Sean Tidd is a Robotics Engineer with a strong focus on software development and experience building software for complex, safety-critical systems. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Robotics Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI).

With 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 3.5+ years in medical robotics, Sean brings a strong ability to learn new technologies and take ownership of challenging technical problems. At Medtronic, he became the Windows OS Software Module Steward for the Hugo™ Surgical Robot within his first year, despite having no prior experience in that area.

 

Sean has experience across software development, big data, and cloud infrastructure, with programming experience in C++, Scala, SQL, PowerShell, and Python. He has worked extensively in Ubuntu Linux environments and with distributed systems, as well as sensor integration and data-intensive applications.

 

Sean is motivated by opportunities to build products that make a meaningful impact on people's lives while continuing to grow as an engineer and expand his technical expertise.
